Rules and Regulations

O.C.A. rules will govern our play. All games will be eight (8) ends.
Teams must register the names of their team members at time of
registration.
Teams may register an eligible fifth member as an “Alternate”, for game
play only.
Registered “Alternates” must be available to play/spare for their
respective teams.
All teams shall use four (4) players for every game.
At least two (2) players must be registered team members.
Any team with only three (3) players after four (4) ends will forfeit the
game.
Special circumstances will be considered by the bonspiel Committee.
All other substitutions or “Spares” must be approved by the bonspiel
Committee.
Use of ineligible curlers will result in team disqualification.
Eligible “Spares” may play for any team, subject to availability.
Skips are responsible for arranging “Spares” from the “Spares” list.
The eligible “Spares” list will be posted by the Draw station.
Please contact Colin Parr to have a name or names added to the
“Spares” list, or if you need assistance in arranging a “Spare”.
In all games, including Event Finals, “Alternates” and “Spares” shall
play the Lead and/or
second positions only.
All substitute players in the Event Finals must be a registered team
“Alternate” or approved “Spare” and have played at least one game in
the bonspiel prior to the Event Finals.
Tie games during regular event play shall be decided by throwing a
single rock per team (any player), with sweeping, toward the glass.
If necessary, measure and remove the rock before 2nd rock is thrown.
If neither rock remains in the house, a coin toss will decide the winner.
A full extra end will decide tie games in the finals.
Vices, please return completed score cards - wins and losses only - to the Draw station.
Colin Parr is our official Score and Rule Master. If, at any time, you are unsure of a rule, please talk to Colin or feel free to ask any of the
committee members for help.
Please remember that all members and guests participating in curling events are doing so at their own risk.
