Rules & Regulations
Please review before the first draw. If anything is unclear, ask the committee at the draw station.
Governing Rules of Play
- Play is governed by O.C.A. rules.
- The 5-rock Free Guard Zone applies; ticks are permitted.
Teams
- Teams play with four (4) players each game.
- At least two (2) players must be registered team members.
- Teams register their lineup at the time of registration.
- An eligible fifth player may be registered as an Alternate (for game play only).
- If a team has only three (3) players after four (4) ends, the game is forfeited (special situations may be considered by the committee).
Spares & Alternates
- An eligible Spares list is posted at the draw station.
- To add a name to the spares list—or if you need help arranging a spare—contact Colin Parr.
- In all games (including finals), alternates/spares may play Lead and/or Second only.
- Eligible spares may play for any team (subject to availability). Skips are responsible for selecting from the posted spares list.
- Any other substitutions must be approved by the Bonspiel Committee.
- Using an ineligible curler may result in disqualification.
Finals note: Substitute players in the finals must be a registered team alternate or an approved spare,
and must have played at least one game in the bonspiel prior to the finals.
Tie Breaking
During Regular Event Play
- One rock per team (any player) thrown toward the glass.
- Sweeping is by the throwing team only.
- If measurement is needed, measure and remove the first rock before the second is thrown.
- If neither rock stays in the house, a coin toss decides the winner.
Event Finals
- Ties are decided by playing a full extra end.
Score Cards
Vices: please return completed scorecards (wins and losses only) to the draw station.
